watermarks from the paper mill

The first paper mill “The Bock” was established in Renkum, NL in 1598.  By the 19th century, Renkum boasted a total of six paper mills. The Beukenlaan project was inspired by the history of  former papermaking in the Renkums Beekdal, NL.  On May 25, 2013, The Renkum Beekdal project opened:  “Integrated vision on nature, landscape and art.”  Jan van IJzendoor was commissioned to design works of art, inspired by the rich history of the paper making industry in Renkum-Heelsum.
